I just Love a rc plane in the air!

Want to build a rc plane, with parts (motor, etc) – RC Groups
“I have looked at many plans to build a plane, for example Mickeys RC Sport Trainer. However in looking for parts, particularly a decent/cheap motor, I’ve had no luck. Xheli/Hobbypartz are always out of stock with the cheaper motors everyone suggests to use for these projects.
My other problem is what motor vs esc to get. Mikeysrc sport says to get a 1100-1500kv motor with a 30amp esc (I believe). The problem is some motors are 1300kv (for instance)(300 series) but the amperage rating on the motor is only like >10amp, with max amperage draws at like 18amps… It’s always different however, some are much lower this is just an example.
So I was wondering what the opinions are of some of you folks of which motor I should use and maybe other suggestions of parts. I’m trying to keep the price of everything down or else I would by the best of everything and not worry about it.
I have even thought of buying a prebuilt plane (such as the supercub) but I really want a rudder and control-ability that comes with it. Meaning I want a machine capable of pulling out of bad positions when things go wrong, not something with limited control that I’ll outgrow too fast. But I also don’t need anything beautiful, just a plane to start flying with.
My rc experience so far is I own a 450 helicopter (which flies similar to a plane at times), which I do pretty well at, so I feel confident about something sporty and not just something that will fly itself.
Any experienced help is appreciated as I have none in planes.”
