Here is the installation and test flight of the FY21AP FPV stability, return to launch and onscreen display system from FeiyuTech of China. The system is installed in a HobbyKing EPP FPV RC model plane, which is designed specifically for first person view flying. A full review of this system is available on the RCModelReviews website at www.rcmodelreviews.com If you’ve got any serious money tied up in an FPV model then this device is a great piece of insurance and can make the whole FPV experience a far more enjoyable one.

I have the FY-20a in a Parkzone SE5a. I wanted to get rid of as much flutter as possible for doing aerial video. It works great! In fact, it works so well, that now I’m looking at all my planes and thinking about installed on of these in some of them I use for video. The SE5a was a bit of a challenge, because I had to mount the unit upside down in the fuse, so it would be right side up when flying or level. There was a little adjustments need to the gains, but after a few minutes, no problem.

Thanks for all your great reviews, I’m working my way through them with interest.
I’m interested in using a stability system on an elevon model. Have you looked at this or can you suggest an information resource? Thanks again!

Just ordered mine Bruce, what a simple & effective way to make it Panic proof. Same plane but still not sure about the Vis/Aud trans yet (900 mh, 5.8gig or 1.3gig or evn these EZUHF units).. I use the Aurora 9 2.4. Range is my biggest concern…Going to use a”Go Pro” cam though most likely. Could u do a comparison on various ways 2 get ur Vis/Aud signal 2 the ground & vise versa. This would help alot of unsure people with this critical choice especially me. Wish i had a ironic shirt to send u.

Have you noticed any drift or odd behaviours from this set yet? Someone at my local forum insists the system has issues but he seems reluctant to elaborate about what is wrong exactly. Your videos have however given me enough confidence to invest in such a system, ive got the same airframe waiting for it aswell and it seems like an absolutely idiotproof way to fly FPV.

Very good review. Amazing technology, some years ago this would have been strictly military use only.

yyes you are right this week i was reading about other systems and you will always need a IMU or other kind of sensors so the price is reasonable
this kid is great accept the lack of throtlle control
for example my receiver shuts down the throttle when loosing signal so the plane will go down
i have no setup for failsafe on the throttle (robbe FX14)
or am I wrong?
bruce can you help me about this problem??
thanks

I dont think so….it seems to be all built in except for IR sensors that add some functionality and stability but the website claims that for the $335 price you get autopilot with return to home and waypoint sequencing. Also it incorporates throttle control which this doesn’t and I believe current sensor, although optional, is also included at the $335 price….see, this is precisely why I want someone to get all the top AP/OSD units together and do a comprehensive review……Bruce?

This would be interesting on a larger model which you can take farther away… Turn on the RTL and 5 minutes later.. “…plane”
Its most useful function is to allow you to have a beer and fly simultaneously.
